A debate team is forming! Come join us at our Summer 2018 Middle School Debate Camp.
This is an in-person course that will utilize many different introductory exercises and activities in Speech and Debate. A typical class period will feature roughly1 hour of Speech to every 2 hours of debate. Students will engage in hands-on activities, exercises, and workshop time to develop
relevant skills in public speaking and argumentation. Worksheets and supplementary materials will be accessible through google drive (and hard copies will be provided to students during the camp).

$300 per week (Register before June 15)
$400 per week (Register before July 15)
$450 per week (Register after July 15)
Hot Lunch: $30 per week
Enroll in the summer, and be eligible to apply $100 credit towards school year debate program

INSTRUCTOR: Avangeline-Marie Balingit
Avangeline-Marie is a Senior at San Jose State University, majoring in Applied Mathematics with a Concentration in Economics and Actuarial Science. She received an A.A in Humanities, as well as an AS-T in Mathematics from Diablo Valley College, where she was captain of the Speech and Debate Team. Avangeline-Marie has been competing in intercollegiate speech and debate for three years now, amassing awards at open-level regional, state, and national tournaments. Most notably, she took gold at the 2017 CCCFA State tournament in Parliamentary Debate, multiple bronze awards at the Phi Rho Pi national tournament in interpretation events and Parliamentary Debate; She was Northern California Forensics Association’s regional champion of Program Oral Interpretation in 2017 and was awarded the Keeling-Haines award for top speaker in Debate and Interpretation at Keeling Invitational this year. As an enthusiastic student and learner, she is known to provide a unique (and slightly odd) energy and passion to learning in the classroom.
