Today, as part of a Hands-On Science unit for "Mixtures and Solutions," students at Olive Children's afterschool program took a trip to the Alameda County Water District's treatment plant in Fremont, California. While at the plant, students learned about the science behind water treatment, including the engineering, chemistry, and geology involved in such an undertaking. Finally, students learned how precious clean drinking water is, and all the work that goes into making tap water safe to use. A huge thanks to Ms. Sharene and the ACWD Public Relations team!
